Circlewood Creative is a communications agency that specializes in creative writing and content for communications, marketing, and public relations. We offer communications and writing services for multiple media, including the web, print, email marketing, radio, television, video production, digital advertising, and social media.
Our head office is in Sherwood Park, Alberta, but our team members are located throughout Western Canada. Because of the nature of our business, our team can work remotely, and we serve clients across Canada and U.S.
We also work with web designers, IT professionals, graphic designers, and digital marketing experts. Our relationships with these trusted professionals allow us to provide comprehensive services for your digital communications and marketing.
History
Circlewood Creative Inc. was incorporated in 2021. Before that, the business operated as a sole proprietorship since 2011.
In 2019, the business expanded. The business hired contracted writers to help meet demand. Throughout this time, we worked with a range of digital communications, web and graphic design specialists to offer a full suite of communications and marketing services to our clients.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic and economic downturn, the business continued to grow. As a result, Circlewood Creative Inc. was incorporated in 2021. Incorporating and changing the business model to an agency offers better and expanded services to current and potential clients.

Our clients include local news outlets and publications, web agencies and designers, IT firms, production companies, industrial and construction companies, home improvement businesses, real estate agencies, marketing agencies, activity and tour providers, financial advisors, hospitality organizations, professional consultants, tech companies, and others!

About the CEO of Circlewood Creative
Amy Hancock, the proprietor, Creative Director and CEO of Circlewood Creative, has written professionally since 2004.
An early career in radio advertising
Amy Hancock started her career as a professional writer after completing the Radio and Television Arts (Radio) Diploma with Honours from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in 2004. Her first gig was writing advertising and promotional copy for 97.7 CKFM in Olds, Alberta.
It wasn’t long before her knack for writing original and persuasive copy landed her back in Edmonton as the Creative Director of Touch Canada Broadcasting. Then, Touch Canada Broadcasting was a network of 3 radio stations: 105.9 Shine FM Edmonton, AM 930 CJCA Edmonton, and 88.9 Shine FM Calgary. She worked in this position from November 2004-November 2006 and then again from October 2009-April 2011. In 2009 the network had grown to include 96.3 Shine FM Grande Prairie.
As Creative Director, Amy managed the creative department for all four radio stations. Responsibilities included writing all on-air radio advertisements and promotional scripts for commercial and non-profit clients of the stations. In addition, she developed station imaging and assisted with station marketing and promotions.
Freelance Writer in Edmonton, AB and Ucluelet, BC
Amy Hancock’s career as a freelance writer began in 2005, working on side projects while maintaining employment with Touch Canada Broadcasting. Her first contracts were writing copy for radio stations and production houses. She also developed company newsletters and wrote copy for printed promotional materials.
From 2009 to 2012, Amy held a contract with Tourism Ucluelet, a tourism marketing organization on the west coast of Vancouver Island. This contract included developing social media marketing strategies and content, writing and publishing a frequent travel blog, email marketing campaigns, web content, and marketing copy for signage, rack cards, and other promotional materials. This opportunity led to publishing editorials in Vancouver Island newspapers and magazines. While she lived on the west coast, she obtained more clients in the area offering similar services.
Amy’s experience in Ucluelet kick-started a successful career as a full-time freelance writer and communications specialist. As communications and marketing transitioned to the digital world, her creative writing and digital marketing services also did. She found success as a freelance writer with clients across Western Canada. Tasks have included writing web content, blog articles, press releases, email marketing campaigns, sponsored content, and managing social media marketing for a range of clientele.
Several of Circlewood Creative’s clients have worked with Amy Hancock since the sole proprietorship began. She has built meaningful relationships with her clients for nearly ten years and is considered an essential part of their team.
